Description
The Kez Rugs Ripstop Combo Rug is a top quality Australian made combo rug using popular ripstop Poly Cotton material. Both the rug, the neck combo and the tail cover are a generous size.
The whole rug is double bound and features satin lined shoulders and mane area.
This is a great fitting rug that will last many seasons and can be utilised as an every day rug, suitable for all occasions, including as an under rug option.
Kez Rugs Ripstop rugs are strong, breathable and made to suit our Australian climate, with top quality fittings and removable leg straps.
There is also an option for embroidery and your colour choice of bindings. At this stage you will need to contact us if you require these custom features.
What is Ripstop?
Ripstop fabrics are woven fabrics which use a special reinforcing technique that makes them resistant to tearing and ripping. During weaving, strong reinforcement threads are interwoven at regular intervals in a crosshatch pattern. These intervals are usually 5 to 8 millimeters. Thin and lightweight ripstop fabrics have a 3-dimensional structure due to the thicker threads being interwoven in thinner cloth. Older lightweight ripstop fabrics display the thicker interlocking thread patterns in the material quite prominently, but more modern weaving techniques make the ripstop threads less obvious. A similar effect can be achieved by weaving two or three fine yarns together at smaller intervals.
Advantages of ripstop are the favourable strength-to-weight ratio and the fact that small tears can not easily spread. Fibers used to make ripstop include cotton, silk, polyester, and polypropylene, with nylon content limited to the crosshatched threads that make it tear-resistant.
